The Opportunity

Salary: £25,584 to £25,992 per annumWorking Pattern: Full time, 37 hours per weekContract Length: PermanentLocation: Worthing with some flexible working.

You will be supporting the team with a variety of administrative tasks from data entry, customer enquiries filing, arranging meetings and sending agendas, collating information, updating spreadsheets and updating council IT systems, always with a customer focused approach.

You will be a great team player, with the ability to establish and sustain positive working relationships, as well as communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. As someone who is versatile and open to change, you will relish the opportunity this position presents to meet service requirements, with a keen eye for accuracy and detail.

Experience and Skills

Key Skills:

  1. Good verbal communication skills for answering telephone queries effectively and communicating with colleagues and customers face to face and virtually.
  2. Clear and effective written communication skills to process data and financial information, to write non-standard correspondence and respond to emails appropriately.
  3. Good numeracy skills to work with figures and data to make sound and accurate financial calculations and data collection, working methodically.
  4. Sound and accurate IT skills including Word and Excel (or equivalent) for daily office duties such as using e-mail, processing documents or updating spreadsheets.
  5. Good analytical and problem-solving skills to analyse specialist information and draw practical conclusions and appropriate actions with an understanding of relevant policies and procedures. For example, to process referrals, upload to relevant systems and notify service users and referrers.
  6. Ability to embrace change and adapt to changing situations and new ways of working positively and effectively. Including the ability to learn new systems and processes.

Qualifications and/or experience:

  • 4 GCSEs with A-C / 4-9 passes including Maths and English, or equivalent qualification or experience demonstrating that level of numeracy and literacy.
  • Experience of working in an office environment.
  • Relevant technical knowledge of procedures and practices associated with delivering an administrative service.
  • Experience of working in an office environment.
  • Sound and accurate overall IT knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working with care record management systems - Desirable
  • Knowledgeand awareness of the processes and systems associated with working within the service specialism (MIS and Mosaic) - Desirable
