About Us
The Combined Placement and Sourcing Team (CPST) was established in April 2020 as part of the health and social care system response to the Covid-19 pandemic. CPST works across health and social care as an integration project that ensures people in hospital who need a supported discharge are able to be discharged with appropriate services as quickly and effectively as possible. Alongside the function of hospital discharge, CPST also ensures that appropriate services are planned and sourced for people who have longer term needs and are eligible for social care support.

About The Job
Salary: £35,235 to £37,938 per annumWorking Pattern: 37 hours per weekContract Length: Permanent position Location: Bridge House, WorthingInterview Dates: 27th & 28th March 2025
You will work closely with the Placement and Sourcing Team Manager in managing and directing a team of 12 Care and Support Brokers, Placement and Sourcing Assistants and potentially other staff who will join the CPST in the future. This includes line management of a number of staff members, supporting staff to plan and source services for people with care and support needs including those discharging from hospital and those with assessed longer term needs.
The Deputy Lead will support the implementation and continuous review of the service's operating practices and contribute to developing these in line with priorities. Liaise regularly with key partners, service providers and a range of WSCC teams and services that will require travel across the county and into neighbouring areas. Along with other members of CPST leadership group you will provide management support across the whole of the CPST service and deputise for Placement and Sourcing Team Manager in their absence.
Experience and Skills
Key Skills (these will be used as the short listing criteria so please cover in your application):
- Ability to apply knowledge of social and/or health care, service providers and processes to provide appropriate support for customers whilst working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
- Ability to lead teams in applying standard operating processes and improving practice in the provision of care and support services.
- Ability to plan service activities across teams prioritising work and ensuring completion.
- Ability to effectively communicate, influence and negotiate across various individuals, teams and groups, through a variety of methods.
- Ability to manage and provide leadership to individuals and teams to support high performance.
Qualifications and/or experience:
- A higher or further education qualification in a relevant health or social care subject or equivalent level of demonstrable experience. Continuing professional development linked to related technical and theoretical knowledge.
- Experience of working within health or social care demonstrating full understanding of services, practices and processes.
- Experience of leading teams and individuals in a high pressure and high-risk environment providing statutory services to vulnerable people.
- Experience of implementing processes across teams and developing practice within individuals and teams.
- Competent experience in IT with ability to source and analyse data and effectively present to a range of audiences.
