We are searching for an exceptional Regional Facilities Manager to join our facilities management service to drive innovation and excellence.

Facilities Management provide a vital service to maintain and support a diverse range of buildings and services including libraries, fire stations and day centres.

The successful candidate will be pivotal to ensuring West Sussex County Council provides a safe and fit for purpose-built environment for all staff and members of the public alike.

Salary: £53,350 to £57,005 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week) Monday to Friday

Location: County Hall North, Horsham Madeira Ave, Horsham RH12 1AB

Interview Date: week commencing 07 April 2025.

This role requires the successful candidate to work from county council office locations, conduct regular site visits, and collaborate closely with the team on a daily basis. Final arrangements will be confirmed with the successful candidate.

You will need to be able to travel independently around the county, including to areas that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Pool cars and pool bikes available.

The Opportunity

As a Regional Facilities Manager, you will be instrumental in overseeing the local implementation of Facilities Management services in the Crawley, Horsham and Worthing areas, with a strong emphasis on ensuring statutory compliance and customer satisfaction.

This role is essential in ensuring the effective management of all WSCC corporate properties, which encompass a variety of facilities such as offices, libraries, fire stations, residential homes, day centres, and sites for gypsy and travellers.

Your expertise is crucial in building strong working relationships with all Site Responsible Managers (SRMs) at corporate properties. This is vital for optimising daily services and offering support during external inspections like OFSTED, CQC, or HM Inspector of Fire Service. Your dedication in this role will make a significant impact on the overall success of our operations.

This is a leadership role which will include the performance management of multi-disciplinary staff including Facilities Managers, Engineers and Surveyors as well as operational engagement with Hard and Soft Facilities Management contractors.

About You

he ideal candidate will have good financial acumen with the ability to work to a budget. You will be an experienced people manager, with good performance management skills and the ability to provide direction and support.

We are looking for someone with proven leadership skills and a desire to use these in influencing colleagues, partners, and decision-makers, as part of our mission to secure continuous improvement in our facilities Management service.

With previous experience of operational experience within Facilities Management, you will have a track record ensuring statutory compliance across multiple sites, You will also be able to build strong client relationships and adopt a collegiate approach across the property and customer community.

You will hold a graduate professional qualification in property or related specialism or equivalent level of significant property experience.
