Job Description
Salary: Grade F - £36,124 per annum rising by annual increments to £38,626. More information on salaries and progression can be found on our pay and policies page.
Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday 37 hours per week - Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30 - Friday 08:00 to 13:00
Location: Trowbridge Equipment Workshop, Trowbridge Fire Station Hilperton Road BA14 7JB Contract: Permanent
This is not a Wiltshire Council vacancy therefore please contact Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service for further information. As Equipment Workshop Supervisor you will:
- Supervise the Trowbridge Equipment Maintenance and Repair Team and the equipment workshop facility ensuring equipment is maintained and repaired in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Ensure effective task prioritisation, scheduling, allocation, delivery, administration, budgeting and record keeping.
- Ensure all equipment workshop policies and procedures are followed, and all necessary records are accurate and maintained such as Health & Safety records, COSHH assessments, Risk Assessments, and safe systems at work.
- In conjunction with the Equipment Maintenance Manager ensure the team receive the necessary training, both initial and ongoing.

- You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
- You will have management experience with the ability to manage a team undertaking a range of technical activities which you can provide support and guidance on.
- You will have excellent organisational and time management skills. You will also be a proficient user of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.

Other Information:
- You must have a full current driving licence and be able to fulfil the travel requirements of the role. Use of your own vehicle will be required; however, a Service vehicle may be available. Please note Service vehicles are manual transmission only.

- A Standard Disclosure & Barring Service Check (DBS) clearance will be undertaken on the successful individual prior to offer of employment .

- We are currently reviewing our drug and alcohol testing arrangements and are likely to introduce pre-employment drug testing as part of the recruitment process for certain roles.
- Upon appointment you will be required to adhere to the requirements of a Health Surveillance Programme and attend an Occupational health appointment for baseline readings.
