A bit about us:
We are a small village school on the edge of the Cotswolds. We are blessed with beautiful surroundings and are in the heart of a vibrant village community.
We are a happy, nurturing school where children achieve well academically and socially and and parents feel supported.
The school currently has 122 children on roll organised in the following classes:
Oak: Reception
Rowan: Year 1 and Year 2
Chestnut: Year 3 and Year 4
Willow: Year 4 and Year 5
Sycamore: Year 6
The School was rated good at an Ofsted inspection in 2021. 'Leaders and staff are ambitious for all pupils. They place significant importanceon 'learning, caring and achieving together'. Leaders expect pupils to develop the skills and knowledge they need to flourish as kind and responsible young people.
Under the leadership of our headteacher Mr Tommy Towers and our Deputy headteacher Mr Dean Moran, our school has continued to thrive. Last year our data was well above the national average across all areas of assessment. This includes 100% of Y6 children reaching the national average or higher in KS2 Maths and 100% of our Y1 children passing the Phonics Screening Test.
We currently have five dedicated full time teachers who are supported by our wonderful and highly experienced teaching assistants and backed by our fantastic administration and premises team and an amazing SENCO. The school has seven classrooms, a large hall, breakout work areas, a large staffroom and several spacious admin offices, with views over our well maintained grounds. Outside we benefit from a spacious tarmac playground, a large playing field, forest school area, a trim trail, gardening area, wild flower meadow and an outside learning space.
All about the role:
We are seeking a committed and dynamic team player who is able to work flexibly and confidently across finance, administration, HR and health & safety. Previous experience in schools, ideally as a School Business Manager is desirable and a relevant qualifications and/or experience in finance is essential.
The successful applicant will be an integral part of our school community, a member of our senior leadership team and will work closely with our governors who are responsible for overseeing each of these functions in school. The SBM will attend Finance and Premises Committee termly and present various reports covering budget monitoring, premises, H&S, wraparound care and other income generating activities.
