Student Programme Support Assistant (Supporting in our Children's Centres across Plymouth)

Job Description
Could you support with the delivery of our student support programmes in one of our children's centres? Are you passionate about creating a learning environment, evaluating learning and feeding back to students to support their development?
Student programme support assistants work as part of a support & development team, to assist with the coordination and the delivery of our student programmes (18+) across Barnardo's children's centres.
We are looking for volunteers with life experience of accessing services, for example, parenting support, disability services, complex health care services, social care etc to support students across our services/centres.
Our students range from medical, dental, social work, health and social care, early childhood studies and counselling. Your role will be working alongside the student placement co-ordinator in offering feedback to students about their skills and ideas while on practice placement as well as helping them understand the impact of support services for the people receiving them. There is no expectation to share any sensitive information about yourself. You may be involved in one-off sessions with small groups of visiting students, helping them to understand the services we deliver or in longer term placements with resident students offering regular meets with the student placement co-ordinator.
This role will give you an opportunity to influence future professionals to work in keeping people at the centre of their practice
