Job Description
When there is a fire, flood or severe weather, we're among the first to respond. From making a cup of tea to trekking through snow and sleet to deliver the essentials, we work with other organisations to do what's needed straight away. We would like volunteers who: - Can attend Crawley Fire Station (RH11 7AJ) within 30 minutes. - Volunteer at least 2 x 12 hour / 4 x 6 hour shifts a month on rota basis. - Can commit to volunteering for at least 12 months. - Can attend monthly team meetings - Have held a driving licence for at least 2 years which allows you to drive in the UK, have access to your own vehicle and be willing to drive a British Red Cross vehicle which is usually a large van, SUV or 4x4. - Respond to emergency call outs in your local area, across the county and sometimes in support of larger incidents further afield. Available to undertake approximately 19 hours of required e-learning modules and Zoom training sessions in the first few months of volunteering plus other ongoing service specific training as required **Due to the nature of this role, applicants must undergo an Enhanced with Adults barred Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.** Diversity is something we celebrate.
