Job Description
The Hull and East Riding Support at Home Service is here to offer people free practical and emotional support after hospital discharge for a time limited period. Being able to safely stay in their own home can make all the difference. We aim to help people to live independently in their own home and support and enable their wellbeing **The service operates 10am to 6pm Monday to Friday. We would like you to be able to:** - Volunteer a minimum of one day per week. - Good conversational skills both verbal and written is essential. - Have held a driving licence for at least 2 years which allows you to drive in the UK and have access to your own vehicle. - Are available to undertake required e-learning modules and Zoom training sessions in the first few months of volunteering plus other service specific trainings as required. **What we can offer includes:** - Settling in at home after discharge from hospital. - Befriending through visits and/or telephone contact. - When you return home, we can help with an essential shop. - Help access different ways to shop. - Helps with ways to get prescriptions delivered. - Support you in finding and accessing other services. Unfortunately, in this role, we do not provide personal care, give medication, be a substitute for any statutory service, or offer long term befriending. - Due to the nature of this role, applicants must undergo an Enhanced with Adults barred Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
