Job Description
Volunteering as a cat fosterer for our Lifeline service is a great way to give cats whose families are fleeing domestic abuse a loving, temporary home, until they can be reunited with their owner.
How to volunteer as a fosterer for Lifeline
Our fosterers are vital to Lifeline and provide temporary, loving homes for cats whose families are fleeing domestic abuse, until they can be safely reunited.
We currently need Lifeline fosterers in the following areas: the South East (London, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Kent, Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire), Yorkshire, East Anglia, the Midlands, Scotland and Wales.
Before applying, please make sure you:
- have no other pets at home (we can't guarantee your foster cat will like the company of other cats or dogs!). If you have pets that live in a tank or cage, get in touch and we'll have a chat about whether this could be suitable
- either own your own property or have written permission from your landlord or housing provider to foster cats
By fostering with Lifeline, you'll be helping us to support someone in need of a temporary home for their cat. We'll cover all costs so all you need to do is provide a loving home for your foster cat and send us lots of photos so we can give their owner updates. Fostering with our service is completely confidential, so you won't actually know anything about the owner and they also won't know your identity either. All communication goes through our dedicated Lifeline team to maintain anonymity.
Applying to become a Lifeline fosterer is quick and easy. Complete our short form and one of our team will be in touch with more information:
