Volunteer Community Adviser

Citizens Advice Northumberland

Job Description

Volunteer Community Adviser

Volunteering at Citizens Advice Northumberland is rewarding, challenging, demanding and fun. You will have the opportunity to be part of a team that operates across the county and also be part of a national organisation.

We are currently looking for volunteer community advisers for our local offices, advising face to face. They give the information, advice and support our clients need to help them find a way forward with their problems and challenges, whatever they may be.

Previous IT experience is essential due to the method of some of the training: e-learning, video calls, emails, online workshops and the IT use required for the role: online research on our information system and case recording.

Previous advisor experience is not necessary as full training is provided - our adviser training programme needs to be and is very thorough. It is important that we are giving the correct advice and information to our clients and also recording it appropriately. Our Trainees commit at least 5-8 hours each week for a minimum of 12 months. They are fully supported throughout their training journey.

If you love learning new skills and knowledge, want an interesting and rewarding volunteer experience, then please contact us for more information. Please do not upload a CV at this stage, simply click apply, fill in the form with your information and submit.

Good luck with your application
