Youth Work Volunteer

The Joff Youth Hub in Peacehaven is undergoing an exciting refurbishment!

We are recruiting Youth Work Volunteers when The Joff opens Summer 2025 to support our Youth Workers, and make a difference to the lives of young people.

Devote time, teach your skills, develop your skills.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

To support the delivery of activities, events and services at East Sussex Youth Hubs. Our hubs provide a safe and inclusive space for young people aged 10 to 18 (or 8 to 25 for those with mild to moderate learning or additional needs). These services are responsive to identified targeted needs which seek to meet the social, educational, emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs of young people. This is in keeping with East Sussex County Council's Youth Work Service aims and objectives.

TASKS MAY INCLUDE:

1. To work directly with young people to help address the identified needs by supporting Youth Workers with youth session programmes, activities and services.
2. To give advice, have conversations and support young people.
3. To assist the Youth Work team with session planning and delivery.
4. To take part in 1:1 support sessions with your coordinator, training and personal development activities.
5. To implement East Sussex County Councils policies and procedures relating to Child Protection, Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities policies.
