Museum welcomer
- Leach Pottery
- Part Time
- St Ives

Job Description
Are you a good communicator with a warm and friendly approach? Are you interested in pottery and the history of our unique site? Do you feel confident with ensuring everyone is treated equitably and to offer support needs when required? Do you feel happy selling and packaging pots from the temporary exhibition space?
We are looking for someone to volunteer on our Welcome desk on Friday afternoons 1-5 or Monday afternoons 1-5 at our Museum at the top of St Ives. This will involve welcoming a range of visitors - from museum visitors, to tours and learning workshop participants, giving a brief overview of the site, taking payment for and wrapping pots and offering additional support where appropriate. Full training will be given.
About Leach Pottery
Since 1920, the Leach Pottery in St Ives has been a centre of creative exchange, learning and collaboration across cultures and between makers. Today, the Leach Pottery Studio, Museum and Gallery continue developing Bernard Leach's historic legacy, none of which would be possible without our volunteers.
Benefits of Volunteering at Leach:
Volunteering is a great way of developing your knowledge of pottery and the arts, meeting friendly people and making a difference.
As a volunteer with us, you can become part of the Cornish Heritage Volunteers Scheme, which offers you free access to a number of Cornwall based arts and heritage locations and National Trust properties. We also offer 20% off Leach pottery in the shop and 10% off some courses. We offer full and ongoing training alongside quarterly Volunteer creative workshops.
In return we ask for a weekly commitment of 1/2 a day during the above hours (holidays accommodated).
