Arts and Crafts Facilitators

Poole Community Exchange

Job Description

Based in a busy community project we are currently combining our existing knit, crochet and natter group with our art group to create a new hub for an Arts and Crafts group covering a wide range of crafts. These groups are historically relaxed and welcoming. Members may bring their own work and may often share ideas. The group will run for approx 2 hours on Monday and Friday mornings.

People who are interested in one or more of the following are encouraged to apply as a facilitator: art, crafts, crochet and/or knitting. Any interest in any crafts would be fantastic,

These are not teaching roles. We are looking for people who are friendly and enthusiastic and who can give some advice and support to beginners, and are happy and confident to take donations from attendees. They will be part of a team of volunteers and will also be able to do their own craft work whilst supporting others.

We are all inclusive and welcome anyone who feels they would like to learn a new skill.

This would be a great opportunity for individuals looking for a creative and fun volunteering position. Several roles are available so absences can be covered. Vacancies are available for Monday and/or Friday mornings.

Poole Community Exchange CIO (PCE) has a vision of an inclusive community where everyone is welcome, and everyone can share their gifts and meet their needs. There are 2 main projects - Poole Pantry and the Community Living Room and Kitchen. Poole Pantry provides food at a fraction of the retail price to those on a low income. It is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11.45 until 1.15

The Community Living Room and Kitchen is a warm welcome space with activities and provides freshly cooked meals to all in return for a suggested donation. The Community meals are served Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12.15.

Activities include arts and crafts, games, coffee morning, meditation and tai chi. Tea, coffee and cake is available for a donation, and there is free Wifi and a space to chat.

Volunteering can help your wellbeing and can provide experience leading to paid work.

Good luck with your application
