Board minutes secretary

Reach Volunteering

Job Description

Volunteer for a small but forward looking charity passionate about a better built environment. We're looking for a skilled and experienced volunteer minutes secretary for our board meetings.

What will you be doing?

Civic Voice is the national advocacy and support organisation for hundreds of local civic and amenity societies across England. As a small charity with big ideas, we need a skilled and experienced minutes secretary to attend our board meetings, take accurate minutes and provide these to the CEO in a timely fashion whilst understanding the importance of maintaining confidentiality.

It's an opportunity for someone with some interest in the built environment, community development and local society development who wants to use their written and organisational skills to positive effect.

Board meetings are usually every quarter and no more than two hours. Time is then needed to write up minutes. Once a year we have a board away day, although it may not be necessary to attend all of that. Occassionally, board meetings are held more often if needed.

What are we looking for?

We need someone with experience of professional minute taking who understands the importanec of impartiality, accuracy and confidentiality.

What difference will you make?

You'll be helping Civic Voice and local societies to grow and maximise their impact on their local communities, developing further opportunities for better design, more sustainable and vibrant communities and social connections.
