Editorial assistant for a community website

Join a young, mission-driven media advocacy organisation working to elevate the profile of UK-based Filipinos and empower them through high-quality news, information and advice.

As an Editorial Assistant, you will be helping the editorial team to do the following:

1. Develop and manage the content calendar.
2. Research and write relevant and engaging articles for the website and content for our social media channels.
3. Copy edit contributions.
4. Prepare content to be published, source images, reach out for comments from outside organisations.
5. Design posters and graphics.
6. Assist in marketing Tinig UK's services and products.

Responsibiities:

• Researching and writing articles for the website and content for our social media channels
• Copy editing contributions
• Preparing content to be published, sourcing images, reaching out for comment from outside organisations
• Assist in developing and managing the editorial calendar

Personal attributes:

• Interested in issues relating to culture, diversity and migration
• A proactive person, who constantly looks for the best ways to get the job done
• Excellent at generating ideas that will appeal to our readers
• Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
• Capable of showing initiative and self-motivation
• Is a clear and confident communicator in person and online

Skills:

• A working knowledge of Wordpress, Canva, Google Docs, Dropbox and Google Analytics
• Experience in journalism
