Join the Tithe Barn Trust as Events Lead and help us host amazing events at this vibrant community hub!

What will you be doing?

The Tithe Barn already hosts fantastic public and private programmes year-round, from live music events, art exhibits, youth theatre and weddings. We would love to increase our public offerings, as well as encourage more rentals of our property for private events such as weddings and graduations. We need your help to manage a more robust calendar!

As the Event Lead, you will:

  • Work with our Chair to manage our Events Calendar, including responding to venue requests, assisting with site tours for interested community groups and individuals, and liasing with community partners.
  • Collaborate with the Board to plan public programmes and events, educational activities and community tours.
  • Oversee event preparation, including site layout and logistics, and help assign volunteers to fill necessary roles.
  • Assist at events - this might involve setting up information and signage, manning the car park, directing visitors, providing information, helping with refreshments, assisting with activities, and cash handling for sales of tickets and merchandise, and breaking down post event.
  • Be an active champion of the organisation.
  • Act in the Tithe Barn Trust's best interests.

What are we looking for?

This role will suit people who...

Have experience working with volunteers, external agencies, contractors, and community organisations.

Have relevant audience-focused experience (e.g. hospitality, tourism, business) and a relevant qualification in the arts/heritage/natural environment.

Have strong project coordination skills.

Have an eye for detail and lots of enthusiasm.

Have good communication and strong organisational skills.

Love teamwork.

We're a small charity and volunteer group committed to caring for the Grade II Listed Tithe Barn, in Landbeach near Cambridge. You will have the chance to make a real difference to a friendly and supportive charity at a time of significant development of a new, special and perhaps more unusual community facility within a heritage-rich village just outside Cambridge.
