Job Description

HBRSG is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing peer support to residents of Hounslow diagnosed with respiratory and other long-term conditions and partners/carers by creating a positive impact on our members.

What will you be doing?

The Group require a Volunteer Finance Officer & Fundraiser to assume full responsibility and be flexible and make a commitment to a minimum of 6 months.

  • To maintain the accounts on Excel spreadsheet whilst working on integrating onto an accounting package.
  • Create and maintain a database of members for Gift Aid purposes
  • Prepare and submit Gift Aid returns to HMRC
  • Prepare and submit Corporation Tax returns to HMRC
  • Prepare quarterly reports and present to Trustees
  • Payroll processing and administration
  • Manage employee pension processes
  • Raise invoices for all types of revenue
  • Prepare grant monitoring reports as required.
  • Prepare and submit Annual Return to the Charity Commission and maintain up-to-date details of Trustees.
  • Assist Chair of Finance Committee in preparing the agenda and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare grant applications with support from the Chair & Business Manager as and when required.
  • Prepare the Annual Report & Accounts
  • Attend Annual General Meeting
  • Attend Committee and Trustee meetings when required
  • Ad hoc as directed by the Trustees

What are we looking for?

Finance background is essential but just as important is a willingness to support the Group's mission and provide financial advice to the Trustees.

This is an ideal opportunity for, preferably, a fully qualified accountant who wishes to gain experience in managing charity finances and to make a significant contribution to a well respected and forward looking local charity delivering much needed services to people living with long-term condition(s) and has a desire to support the Charity's mission. The successful candidate will be a member of the Charity's Management Board.
