Finance Officer for Exeter Scrapstore

We are entering a new phase as a local community resource that promotes recycling and creativity!

We are looking for a finance officer that can offer 2-4 hours a week to help manage accounting tasks for our Trustee Board.

Exeter Scrapstore is a very interesting and dynamic place to volunteer, and we would love to hear from you!

After 7 years, our volunteer finance officer/treasurer is stepping down. She has left the accounts in a very good order. Last year, we made a small profit which we invested back into the charity.

Now we need to urgently look for a volunteer finance officer who can support our core staff of one part-time lead worker and several casual workers. This would be to ensure various financial/bookkeeping tasks, monthly and quarterly reports and forecasting, and compliance with Companies House and the Charity Commission requirements are met.

We are looking for someone comfortable with the use of SAGE software and experience of budgets which include retail income as well as other forms of income, eg ringfenced grants. We appreciate someone who is a team player and has an interest in the aims of the charity. Being able to deliver documents and filings to deadline is a must.

Your impact will be essential, particularly as we embark on a new phase which we hope will grow the charity's impact and make it financially strong. Your role is essential for us to remain compliant with Companies House and the Charity Commission rules as well as ensure Trustees receive accurate budget reports that will enable us to move the charity forward responsibly.
