Fundraiser for blood and organ donation educational charity

We Are Donors is a national charity that educates children and young people about blood and organ donation. We are looking to recruit a fundraiser to our national management committee.

At present our management committee comprises 10 doctors and our charity manager who are all passionate about addressing the challenges of blood and organ shortages. As the charity has grown, we recognise the need to diversify our skill set.

You will be responsible for strategising and getting hands on with We Are Donors' income generation.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to bring a fresh perspective to this small but fast growing organisation. If you are a good fit with our organisation, there is potential for the role to progress to a position on the Board of trustees.

Essential requirements:

• Experience in fundraising for charities
• Organised, great communication skills both written and verbal
• Able to work remotely
• Able to attend remote meetings in evenings

Desirable/non-essential requirements:

• Strong interest in health equality
• Experience working with volunteers
• Experience writing grant applications

We Are Donors is in the business of saving lives. To date we have spoken to around 12,000 pupils about organ donation and we have recruited over 800 new blood donors. We have received fantastic feedback from the schools and universities we have worked with.

However, the crisis of organ shortages and the perpetual need for more blood donors continues. So far our organisation has been funded through public donations and grants. In order to continue this project we need a robust strategy for how to fund our operations going forward and that is where you could make a real impact.
