Job Description
Join Somali Medical Aid Group (SMAG) as a Fundraiser and help secure critical funding for life-saving medical interventions. Work remotely, set your own schedule, and make a real impact.
What will you be doing?
SMAG provides life-saving medical aid to underserved communities, particularly those affected by conflict. We connect critically ill patients—many of them war victims—with vital healthcare interventions, including surgeries, rehabilitation, and long-term medical care.
We are looking for motivated, results-driven fundraisers to help secure funding through:
- Grant applications & donor outreach
- Corporate sponsorships & partnerships
- Crowdfunding & digital fundraising campaigns
If you're a skilled communicator and strategic thinker, we'd love to have you on board!This is a flexible, remote role with a commission/ volunteer-based structure.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a number of passionate and results-driven individuals. A Fundraising manager to plan, manage and drive our funding needs as well as 3 Fundraisers who can help secure funding for life-saving medical interventions. The ideal candidate should have:
Skills & Experience
- Fundraising & Grant Writing - Experience in securing funds through grant applications, donor outreach, or corporate sponsorships.
- Donor Engagement - Ability to build and maintain relationships with funders, philanthropists, and organizations.
- Digital & Crowdfunding Strategies - Knowledge of online fundraising platforms, social media campaigns, and storytelling techniques.
- Strategic Thinking - Ability to identify funding opportunities, develop proposals, and implement fundraising strategies.
- Strong Communication - Persuasive writing and speaking skills to convey SMAG's mission effectively.

- Proactive & Self-Motivated - Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Target-Driven & Results-Oriented - Comfortable working towards fundraising goals.
- Networking & Partnership-Building Skills - Ability to engage businesses, NGOs, and individuals for sponsorship and long-term support.
Previous experience in fundraising, non-profits, or grant writing is preferred, but we also welcome highly motivated individuals with strong communication and networking skills.
