Job Description

We seek an IT professional to optimise technology for our helpline supporting people with Degenerative Cervical Myelopathy (DCM).

What will you be doing?

We are launching a helpline to support individuals affected by DCM, a disabling spinal condition. To ensure its smooth operation, we need a volunteer IT professional to help us select, implement, and maintain the best technology solutions for managing calls, tracking caller interactions, and safeguarding data.

Key Deliverables:

  • Assess and recommend cost-effective software and platforms to manage the helpline
  • Set up and optimise a CRM or tracking system for caller interactions
  • Ensure data security and compliance with best practices
  • Provide guidance on integrating digital tools to improve accessibility and efficiency
  • Offer IT training or support to helpline volunteers as needed

Who You'll Work With:

You will work closely with the charity Director/trustees, helpline team and volunteers, to design and implement IT solutions that meet our needs.

Flexibility of the Role:

This role is flexible and can be adapted based on your expertise and interests. We welcome input on the best way to approach the technological aspects of our helpline and are happy to work in a way that makes the best use of your skills.

What are we looking for?

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in IT, software solutions, or digital platforms
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and helpline management tools
  • Understanding of data protection and cybersecurity best practices
  • Ability to assess and recommend cost-effective software solutions
  • Experience providing IT training or technical support
  • Experience of working with Google Workspace [Must-Have]
  • Experience of working with 3CX telephony software [Desirable]
  • Experience of working with Notion [Desirable]
  • Experience of working with HubSpot [Desirable]
