Job Description
We are Reprezent
We empower, develop and train young people with little or no experience and equip them to create successful futures - at absolutely no cost to them.
What will you be doing?
The Opportunity
Reprezent has grown over 22 years from a small radio project in Peckham to a London-wide youth station collaborating with top institutions like UAL, The Prince's Trust, Tate and the Southbank Centre, as well as global brands including Nike, Adidas, Apple, Converse and Red Bull.
We currently have over 3,200 young people on our waiting list and urgently need to market ourselves better to sustain and grow our services. Our passion and impact are undeniable, but we lack the in-house knowledge to strategically sell ourselves, attract wider support, and grow our resources.
We've just invested £40,000 in a new website and are introducing advertising for the first time following changes in government regulations. We're ready to scale, but we need guidance.
We're looking for a volunteer with marketing expertise to help us conduct a Marketing Audit, identifying our weaknesses, sharpening our strategy, and helping us focus our limited resources where they'll have the biggest impact.
What You'll Do:
- Review Reprezent's current activity (social media, website, brand identity, messaging)
- Assess the effectiveness of our channels in reaching key audiences (young people, funders, partners, listeners)
- Benchmark our sector positioning
- Identify gaps, risks, and opportunities
- Recommend practical, strategic actions to build a clearer and stronger marketing approach
With increased support, Reprezent aims to reach tens of thousands more listeners and participants - transforming lives, the economy, and the British music scene.
What are we looking for?
Support to upskill and develop our marketing services. We're looking for a volunteer with marketing expertise to help us conduct a Marketing Audit, identifying our weaknesses, sharpening our strategy, and helping us focus our limited resources where they'll have the biggest impact.
What difference will you make?
Our work addresses underlying issues which prevent people from fulfilling their potential, mainly:
low aspirations;
low self-esteem;
low skill levels.
The young people we support are amongst the most deprived in the country, scoring in the worst 10% on the index of multiple deprivation. Our core beneficiaries are aged 16-25, 75% BAME, 60% female and primarily locals from South London.
Known as the birthplace of stars like Sherelle, Stormzy, Munya Chawawa, Femi Koleoso, Jamz Supernova, Novelist, Kenny Allstar, etc, etc. Reprezent is publicly seen as a hub for emerging talent.
That's the public persona and what we want our audience to see. The reality is that we are full to the brim with music-obsessed young people from a lot of backgrounds. Those backgrounds are each young person's 'normal' - but it's the side of Reprezent we don't publicise. Amongst our ranks we have care leavers, homeless, beneficiaries with mental health issues and they are all in need of Reprezent and our support. We are dedicated to expand our work to reach tens of thousands of interactive listeners and thousands of young participants. Transforming lives, the economy and the British music scene.
