Job Description

We seek online volunteer teachers to deliver engaging tuition for children and teach adults English, Maths, and Computing Skills classes.

What will you be doing?

To deliver engaging and effective online lessons to primary, secondary, or adult learners:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver online lessons tailored to the needs of the learners.
  • Provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Encourage participation and inspire learners to achieve their potential.
  • Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback.

Requirements:

  • Experience and enthusiasm for teaching and a passion for the subject(s).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to making a positive impact on the community.
  • Access to a reliable internet connection and a suitable device for online teaching.

We are looking for volunteers to teach the following subjects online:

● Teaching the Arabic language:

Schedule:1. Children (Level 1): Wednesday, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM2. Children (Level 2): Wednesday, 7:10 PM - 8:10 PM3. Adults (Level 1): Sunday, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM4. Adults (Level 2): Sunday, 7:10 PM - 8:10 PM

● Teaching Maths

Schedule:1. Year 5 (Key Stage 2): Monday, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM2. Year 6 (Key Stage 2): Monday, 7:10 PM - 8:10 PM3. Year 7, 8, and 9 (Key Stage 3): Saturday, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM4. Year 10 and 11 (Key Stage 4): Saturday, 12:10 PM - 1:10 PM

● Teaching English

Schedule:

1. Year 7, 8, and 9 (Key Stage 3): Saturday, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM2. Year 10 and 11 (Key Stage 4): Saturday, 12:10 PM - 1:10 PM3. What are we looking for?

Skills:

  1. Strong Subject Knowledge: Proficiency on the subject(s) you wish to teach.
  2. Digital Literacy: Competence in using online teaching platforms, Google Meet, and creating teaching materials using tools such as Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
  3. Communication Skills: Clearly explaining concepts and adapting communication styles to suit different learners.
  4. Organisational Skills: Planning, preparing, and delivering structured and engaging lessons.
  5. Problem-Solving: Quick thinking and adaptability to effectively respond to learner questions and challenges.

Experience:

  1. Teaching or Tutoring Experience: Prior experience in teaching, tutoring, or mentoring (formal or informal) is beneficial but not mandatory.
  2. Working with Diverse Groups (Desirable): Familiarity with teaching children or adults from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds.
  3. Online Teaching (Desirable): Experience teaching or working in a virtual environment is advantageous.

  2. Passion for Education: A genuine enthusiasm for teaching and empowering others through knowledge.
