Promotion professional to increase impact of niche educational charity addressing deprived children in South Africa

TVS works in the Eastern Cape. Apartheid left disadvantaged areas with poor education. TVS provides quality education to all children. We need a passionate professional to help define and promote our vision to supporters in the UK and beyond.

As a niche UK charity Tyume Valley Schools is entirely run by its trustees and volunteer professionals. These individuals manage all aspects of the the charity's operations since then is no separate salaried management team. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to help us channel our efforts most effectively. The remit will therefore be wide-ranging and the individual should be willing to get involved in various aspects of TVS's operations. They will work closely with the Chairman and other trustees in prioritising initiatives to ensure results are delivered with the limited resources to hand. Areas of particular interest include event management, KPI monitoring, feedback to funders, and promotional collateral curation.

This is very much an embryonic role and the successful candidate would be a key influencer in its continued evolution.

Experience of a senior role in a small, volunteer-run charity.

Grasp of funding challenges.

Willingness to roll up your sleeves and get involved in all areas, even if out of your comfort zone.

Comfortable with working remotely.

Passion for ensuring that all children have access to fundamental education to optimise their life opportunities.

TVS is a small charity dedicated to developing the educational opportunities available to children growing up in a very deprived area of the Eastern Cape in South Africa. It depends on the passion of its supporters and volunteers. We rely on a grants and contributions from many sources. You can help us channel this enthusiasm and ensure that our resources are deployed as effectively as possible in providing opportunity and hope to children who deserve it.

There is no formal application process. In the first instance an expression of interest and motivation, ideally accompanied by a summary CV would sufficient. Applications will be acknowledged by the Chairman who would then seek to arrange an informal telephone discussion prior to initiating formal interviews.
