SEND and EHCP supporter online
- Reach Volunteering
- Part Time
- Covent Garden

Job Description
EHCP.org.uk are looking for volunteers that are experienced in SEND and the EHCP process that can offer online support to any parent or carer that might encounter difficulties with using our portal.
What will you be doing?
We are about to launch our SEND Strength portal on ehcp.org.uk. It will help thousands of parents and carers easily apply for an Education, Health, and Care Needs Assessment for their child or young person. The existing process is daunting and complicated. We are going to make it accessible to all.
And we are going to police the process. In 2023 84,000 new EHCPs were issued. Only 50.3% on time. Which means that nearly 42,000 were UNLAWFULLY late. These delays to statutory timescales are only in the interest of Local Authorities. We are going to track each timescale and raise complaints all the way through to the LGSCO so that EVERY child or young person has their lawful rights monitored.
All a delay causes is a withholding of the legal right of appeal and the denial of support for the Special Educational Needs of a child or young person. Support that is often desperately required.
What are we looking for?
*Because of the nature of this role you will need to have a DBS check undertaken by us*
We are looking for a patient and kind volunteer who can guide a parent or carer through our portal if the user experiences any difficulties.
You will need to have had experience of support, EHCPs and the application process.
You will need to identify problem areas in the system so that we can iron them out to make the system simple and effective.
What difference will you make?
You will be vital in supporting parents through our process and streamlining it so that it is simple to use and effective.
