Job Description
Tech Education Volunteer needed to teach 2-hour weekend sessions at The Autism Hub in North London. Help neurodiverse young people (with a focus on young women and non binary people), develop valuable tech skills in an inclusive environment.

Are you passionate about technology and want to make a difference in young people's lives? Atypify is seeking enthusiastic volunteer teachers to deliver engaging tech education sessions at The Autism Hub during weekends.
About Us: Atypify is a non-profit digital inclusion project providing free tech education to neurodiverse individuals. Our work is deeply rooted in lived experiences of neurodiversity, and we're committed to creating a safe, inclusive space where young people can learn at their own pace.
The Role:
- Deliver 2-hour tech education sessions on weekends
- Teach subjects like web design, coding, cybersecurity, or app development
- Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles
- Work with small groups of neurodiverse learners aged 14-25

Practical Details:
- Location: The Autism Hub, North London
- Time Commitment: 2-hour sessions (Saturdays or Sundays)
- DBS check required (we can arrange this)
- Training and support provided
What are we looking for?
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Technical knowledge in one or more areas: web design, coding, cybersecurity, or app development
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS, Flutter, React Native, or Bootstrap would be valuable
- Experience using technology in an accessible way
- Good communication skills, with ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Basic digital literacy and comfort with online teaching tools

- Friendly and approachable manner (essential for our inclusive environment)
- Patient and understanding, especially when explaining complex concepts
- Kind and empathetic approach to teaching
- Ability to adapt teaching style to different learning needs

Desirable Experience:
- Previous teaching or mentoring experience
- Experience working with young people aged 14-25
- Understanding of neurodiversity and inclusive education
- Background in creating accessible learning materials
- Experience in adapting content for different learning styles
