Job Description
In its 80th year the show attracts over 5,000 visitors. Annual expenditure is £25k. The treasurer is a key position supporting the chairperson, assisting with fund raising and sponsorship, banking and financial reports.
What will you be doing?
The Frenchay Flower Show is a major annual event in South Gloucestershire. The role of treasurer is to manage banking arrangements, maintain expenditure and income records in preparation for our chartered accountants and ensure compliance with all charity registrations. Most ticket sales and financial transactions are electronic, although some cash transactions occur on the day of the show.
The treasurer is a key position supporting the chairperson and will assist with fund raising, sponsorship and endorsements.
The organising committee is building and transitioning to a more modern, digital and sustainable financial model to ensure this prestigious event can flourish and continue long into the future. Good digital skills are essential.
What are we looking for?
The treasurer will have at least 3 years financial, accounting or bookkeeping experience, with some experience of a registered charity. Team work and good digital skills are essential.

Your approach and input will help shape how the organising committee changes to meet new financial and organisational challenges, and how we develop our relationships with sponsors, local businesses, charities, schools and care facilities. Importantly, building a financially sustainable model to take the flower show forward over the coming decade.
