About Us
Read Easy Southampton & IOW (RESIOW) is a charity that organises the provision of free, confidential, one-to-one reading coaching for adults who are unable to read or who struggle with reading. We are affiliated to Read Easy UK which provides a range of services and support to local groups across England. Read Easy Southampton & Isle of Wight (RESIOW) is an independent local charity (Registered Charity Number 1211966) which provides the Read Easy service to residents of Southampton, the Waterside, the New Forest and the Isle of Wight.

Outline of the Team Administrator Role - Home working & meetings in Central Southampton, Hampshire
The team administrator supports a range of important functions and processes to ensure the smooth running of the group, good team communications and adherence to Read Easy policies and quality standards. This is a voluntary role, requiring active engagement with the team on three days each week.
What you will be doing
- Attending a monthly daytime operational meeting in person in central Southampton, taking meeting notes and distributing them by email.
- Managing several email distribution lists.
- Helping to maintain a spreadsheet with contact details, training records and other information related to our pool of volunteer coaches.
- Managing a programme of internal Zoom training sessions, sending the meeting link to coaches by email in advance. Taking notes of sessions if required and distributing notes or slides by email.
- Booking Read Easy training courses for coaches, sending confirmation emails and ensuring all relevant team members are copied into communications.
- Attending a quarterly evening management team meeting, ideally in person, in central Southampton. Agreeing a record of team meeting decisions and action points with the team leader and distributing notes by email.
- Helping to develop our social media presence via new content and platforms.
Experience and skills required
- Proficient in using Microsoft packages: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Good communication skills, methodical, organised, with good attention to detail
- Experience of working within policy and procedural rules
- A commitment to the ethos and values of Read Easy
How we will support you
You will be provided with a Read Easy email account and access to our SharePoint network. You will have an induction with guidance specifically to enable you to undertake the role with confidence. You will have access to support from the head of communications and the team leader. This role is mainly home based but there will be constant online communication available. There will be regular opportunities to meet other members of the extended management team.
