Reading is a basic requirement of everyday life, and for many of us it is a skill we take for granted. But did you know that nearly 1 in 14 people have difficulty reading?

Read Easy is a charity which provides free, confidential, one-to-one reading coaches for adults who would like to improve their reading skills at their own pace and without pressure. Reading sessions are taught by fully trained volunteer reading coaches to work with readers in their own community.

Read Easy Chichester & Arun is our local friendly group, based in Chichester, Bognor Regis and Littlehampton.

What you will be doing:

• Interviewing and matching volunteers to appropriate roles.
• Advertising to find volunteers, attending occasional volunteer recruitment fairs.
• Liaising with the support team members
• Maintaining up to date, accurate volunteer records.
• Participate in face to face Management Team meetings, typically every 2 months.

Skills required:

• Recruitment experience is highly desirable
• Excellent communication, use of initiative and IT proficiency.
• Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with a non-judgemental attitude.
• Organisational and time management abilities.
• Follow policies and procedures.
• Passion to help support our team to help adults improve their reading skills
• 5 - 6 flexible hours each week to commit to the role. Mainly working from home.

Availability:

This role requires approximately 5 - 6 flexible hours each week, mainly working from home. It will require prompt responses to enquiries and availability for interviewing, administration, and management meetings which are face to face approximately every 2 months in Chichester, Bognor and Littlehampton by rotation.
