Be a Friend to a Resident

We're looking for a kind-hearted volunteer to spend time with one of our residents, an 82-year-old gentleman with a mild learning disability who loves music, daily walks, and tea and cake outings to the local high street. Though independent and full of life, he sometimes feels lonely as he doesn't have close family or friends visiting.

Your time together could involve:

• Sharing chats over a cup of tea
• Listening to music (he loves tunes from the 50s, 60s, and 70s!)
• Simply enjoying each other's company

This could be:

• Weekly
• Twice a month
• Monthly

Our resident is a great conversationalist, though he has a stammer, so patience and a friendly demeanour are key. Your time could make a big difference in brightening his afternoons and giving him the companionship he deserves.
