Primary School Volunteer Reader – Catterick Garrison
- Schoolreaders
- Part Time
- Bedford

Job Description
Schoolreaders volunteers visit their matched primary school once a week for an hour or two and listen to children read individually to help support the children's reading ability and their understanding.
Our volunteers need to be over 18, have good written and spoken English but they do not need any previous teaching experience just a willingness to support children who may not have the opportunity to read with anyone else.
We ask that our volunteers commit to their school for a full academic year and all volunteers will need to have a DBS check (Disclosure and Barring service (formerly CRB)) carried out.
Our volunteers get an enormous amount out of their volunteering and in the words of one of our wonderful volunteers "More people should be Schoolreaders, it's wonderful to work with children and see their self confidence grow and witness big improvements in their reading ability"
Come and join us and see what a difference you can make to children in your local community.
