Job Description
Volunteer to help Sue Ryder be there when it matters
Do you have some time free to help our lovely shop? Weekdays and / or weekends - especially Monday afternoons and Saturdays.
We are in the heart of the town (with parking nearby) and would love for you to join our great team.
As a Charity Shop Assistant Volunteer in our Jedburgh Sue Ryder charity shop, you will be one of the store's friendly faces who will help us to provide the best customer experience whilst playing an important role in raising funds for our charity work.
The Role - Charity Shop Assistant Volunteer
• Donations and Gift Aid - meet donors, receive donations, sign donors up to Gift Aid
• Sorting, labelling, pricing of stock
• Greeting and helping customers
• Serving customers on the till (training provided)
• Maintaining shop displays, re-stocking,
• Light cleaning/tidying duties to keep the shop inviting and well presented
About you
As a Charity Shop Assistant Volunteer you will:
• Enjoy helping and engaging with customers
• Enthusiastic and pro-active
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Reliable
Please note - we do have a minimum age requirement in our shops of 18. We regret that we cannot proceed with your application if you are not yet 18.

Customer Service & Till Volunteer

As a Customer Service & Till Volunteer in our Swarcliffe Sue Ryder charity shop, you will be one of the store's friendly faces who will help us to provide the best customer experience whilst playing an important role in raising funds for our charity work.

The Role - Customer Service & Till Volunteer

Social Media Volunteer
Volunteer to help Sue Ryder be there when it matters
As a Social Media Volunteer in our Richmond Sue Ryder charity shop, play a key role in promoting our range of distinctive fashion clothing as well as our fabulous furniture.
You will provide in-store support to enhance the shop's Facebook page, to increase our visibility to a wider audience. If you're interested, you can also combine this with our eBay role so you can research unique items and their potential value and entice customers with your unique selling points.

The Role - Social Media Volunteer
Photographing items, on personal phone
• Creating attractive shop displays
• Creating engaging posts on social media (Facebook)
• Promoting the charity
• Greeting and helping customers
• Light cleaning/tidying duties to keep the shop inviting and well presented
About you
As a Social Media Volunteer you will:
• Be able to follow instructions
• Have good literacy
• Good knowledge of social media and technology / photo apps
• Enjoy helping and engaging with customers
• Enthusiastic and pro-active
• Ability to work as part of a team

Lead Volunteering
If you are looking to take on extra responsibility, we have fantastic Lead Volunteer opportunities nationwide. Receive an enhanced level of training in store and via e-learning to boost your skills and confidence to support the day to day running of the shop in the absence of the management team.
