Summary
Triumph Over Phobia (TOP UK) supports people with debilitating OCD and phobias through a network of online support groups. OCD and Phobias are often highly stigmatised conditions and as a result those suffering often don't reach out for help. When they do, the support just isn't there. At TOP UK we pride ourselves on ensuring no one has to suffer on their own. We are looking for volunteers to be the first point of contact when someone calls the organisation. The role will require listening to the caller, as it may be the first time they have ever spoken about their conditions, and providing some basic information on TOP UK before booking interested individuals in for an assessment with the Clinical Team. You will be given training before you start and can work flexibly to suit your schedule. We are asking for 2-3 hours per week, based remotely.
Main Responsibilities
- To log on and listen to the answer phone service noting who has called and contact details
- To call back callers wanting to know more about our service for initial conversation
- To book those wishing to progress with the service in for an assessment with the Clinical Team
- To conduct administrative duties associated with the role.
- To Listen, empathetically, to callers to ensure they get a warm and compassionate first impression of the organisations
Person specification
- You will be warm, compassionate and empathetic
- You will be good with people
- You will be able to communicate effectively via phone and email
- You will be able to liase with a wide range of people
- You will be organised
- You will be committed to the work of TOP UK
- Experience of working as a receptionist or in a front of house role would be useful but not essential .
- Having lived experience of anxiety, OCD or a Phobia would be useful but not essential
