Job Description
Who we are
We are a volunteer-led registered charity, currently run by 4 trustees. We work with partner organisations in Burkina Faso to strengthen their capacities to promote and protect the rights of persons with disabilities to live in a fully inclusive society.
Our projects include working with our partners to support children and adults with disabilities to access education and training opportunities, as well as to develop income-generating activities.
The role
LAFI Burkina is recruiting trustees to join us in our work and to expand the skillset of our board.
We are a small, trustee-led charity with no paid staff.
- Our trustees all work on a voluntary basis, with reasonable expenses covered;
- We meet 3 to 4 times per year, usually online;
- Between meetings, trustees carry out work independently to support the charity's objectives;
- On average, trustees commit to volunteering 1.5 to 3 hours per month.
We are looking for trustees with an interest in disability rights, advocacy and international development, who feel passionate about our work and are committed to advancing the charity's objectives in their free time, as they take on this rewarding role.
