Polishing silver cutlery

To really get your solid silver cutlery (not plated) gleaming, line a plastic bowl with aluminium foil, shiny side up. Put a mug full of soda crystals in the bowl plus enough hot water to immerse the cutlery. With rubber gloves on, drop the cutlery into the bowl and watch it turn from dull to clean in just a couple of minutes. Rinse thoroughly under a warm tap, then buff to a high shine with a lint free cloth.
