Roland’s Story

Roland spent all his working life in hospitality. After almost 50 years in the trade, he decided to retire. But having enjoyed a long break in Cornwall, he needed more stimulation. And that’s where McDonald’s came in.

Returning to his native Sheffield, he started work as a McDonald’s crew member and the rest is history. Aged 64, this job has given Roland a new lease of life; helping him rediscover his way with customers and going above and beyond to make their stay special. He’s had the freedom to do what he loves and has been supported, by us, to develop his skills throughout the restaurant.

What started as a stopgap job for a few weeks has turned into one of the best jobs of his life – and he has no plans to leave!

Crew Member

We want every McDonald’s customer to have a brilliant experience, every time they visit. As a Crew Member at McDonald’s, you’ll make it happen. Whether you’re preparing food, serving on the till, or out and about in the dining areas looking after our customers. You’ll consistently deliver the highest standards of quality, service, and cleanliness in the restaurant.
