About The Role

Bristol, Permanent, full time, hybrid (3 days per week in studio)

Based in Bristol and reporting to Aardman's Executive Commercial and Brand Director, this new role of Director of Digital, Social and Communities will deliver bold and innovative digital creative leadership to help shape and implement the future of Aardman's digital content strategy. Ultimately the position will be responsible for driving Aardman's brands digital presence and growth across all the company's digital platforms and FAST channels.
The position will sit within Aardman's Sales and Marketing pillar and will oversee the Digital, Social and Communities team who manage YouTube, FAST and social media channels. The key objective for this position is to drive the vision for the creative strategy, execution and distribution of digital content across Aardman's platforms, ensuring alignment with Aardman's brands' goals and overall objectives. It will work with content producers to develop content, as well as execute channel, and digital marketing strategies to enhance the visibility and engagement of Aardman and its brands with its communities across their YouTube, social and FAST channels.
In addition, the position will lead the analysis of all digital performance metrics to understand and drive effective audience reach and engagement generally, and to ensure that Aardman's own brand activations, through its consumer products and live experiences, to its brand communities are effective, and result in additional commercial gain. As a consequence, the position will collaborate and be a leading voice of digital across Aardman, to ensure all digital activities align with the wider brand plan and there is appropriate engagement from relevant teams across the business.
The role will work with the Executive Commercial and Brand Director to identify opportunities to maximise the value of Aardman's content across its digital channels whilst also driving new models for funding digital content.

About You

The successful candidate will therefore be expected to understand and have a demonstrable track-record of successfully developing and executing digital creative, editorial and audience engagement initiatives that result in audience growth. They will have a career background in digital media content creation and will demonstrate their ability to lead, manage and inspire teams and partners, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment that encourages teamwork and innovation. It is crucial, too, that the appointed person comes with an understanding and point of view about the ever-evolving digital landscape and that they demonstrate thought-leadership about the future of digital.

Ultimately, the position will be a leading voice of digital creative content within the Aardman business, responsible for taking Aardman on a new digital journey, shaping and executing a fresh digital direction for the company and its character brands.
