Job Description

This role is home-based with frequent travel throughout parts of Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, East Anglia, Essex, Hertfordshire, and North London. Ideally, you will reside within a 30-mile radius of Peterborough.

Salary is up to £43,800 per annum, dependent on experience, including a car allowance of £5,800.

Permanent, 37.5 hours per week.

We are seeking a skilled Stock Condition Surveyor to carry out precise stock condition surveys in line with established criteria, including the Decent Homes Standard (DHS) and the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), ensuring compliance with our internal standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning future investments based on historical survey data, repairs, maintenance work, and improvement projects.
  • Assisting Asset Evaluation Surveyors in developing planned investment programmes and contributing to strategic decision-making.
  • Attending operations and resident meetings to explain proposed investment decisions and address any concerns.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to share property condition information, identify recurring issues, and support joint maintenance efforts.
  • Assisting in the preparation of statistics, reports, and other relevant documentation as required.

About You

To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone who possesses:

  • HND / HNC or equivalent qualification in Building or Construction (essential).
  • Progress towards MRICS or MCIOB accreditation (desirable).
  • A background in building, building services, or retirement housing would be advantageous.
  • An understanding of the distinctions between care homes, rented housing, and homeownership estates, along with their respective customer expectations.
  • Strong data handling and analytical skills.
  • A proven track record of working effectively with stakeholders on various projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to assess investment proposals to deliver positive outcomes.
  • Exceptional planning, prioritisation, and time management abilities.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
