Stock Condition Surveyor (North West) Salary: circa £37,000 (depending on experience) + car allowance of £5,800 Permanent | Full-time (37.5 hours per week) Home-based with frequent travel across the North West, including parts of West Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cumbria, Cheshire, Staffordshire, Shropshire, and Derbyshire.

The Role As a Stock Condition Surveyor, you will carry out comprehensive stock condition surveys to ensure our homes meet the Decent Homes Standard (DHS) and Housing Health Safety Rating System (HHSRS) requirements. Your insights will guide investment decisions and help maintain high standards across our housing portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting stock condition surveys in line with internal and external standards.
  • Planning future investments by reviewing past survey results, repairs, and maintenance projects.
  • Supporting Asset Evaluation Surveyors in creating planned investment programmes.
  • Participating in operations and resident meetings to explain investment plans and address concerns.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to share property condition data and solve recurring issues.
  • Assisting in the preparation of reports, statistics, and other necessary information.

About You To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • HND / HNC in Building or Construction (essential).
  • Progress towards MRICS or MCIOB status (desirable).
  • Experience in building services or retirement housing (advantageous).
  • A good understanding of the differences between care homes, rented housing, and homeownership estates, and their customers' needs.
  • Strong data analysis skills and experience working with stakeholders on project delivery.
  • Problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate investment proposals for positive outcomes.
  • Excellent planning and organisational abilities, with a track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.

Location: Ideally, you'll live within a 30-mile radius of Manchester to support your travel across the region.
