Avenues is proud to be part of The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism.

Join us as an Expert with Lived Experience Trainer to deliver learning disability training to people who work in Health and Social Care including the NHS, GPs and Dentists.

We are looking for people who live in Basingstoke and Winchester or within the surrounding area, who are able to travel to local training venues. Travel expenses will be paid for and you will join us on a zero hour contract which means you will work flexibly and are able to complete working hours as offered but usually 3.5 hours a day up to 3 times per week.

The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism is named after Oliver McGowan, whose death highlighted the need for health and social care staff to have better skills, knowledge and understanding of the needs for autistic people and those with a learning disability.

This is an amazing opportunity to influence how care is delivered by providing Health and Social Care staff with the knowledge and skills they need to make a difference.

The training will be delivered face to face and each session will be run by a trio of experts including a facilitator and two trainers. These trainers will be autistic individuals or people with learning disabilities, ensuring that the training benefits from their lived experiences.

You will receive three days of training to carry out and develop the skills to be successful in this role, we will support you to be confident in talking to a group of people. Successful applicants need to be available to undertake all of the below training dates at a local venue;

Monday 2nd DecemberThursday 5th DecemberTuesday 17th December
