BAE Systems do offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however it is expected on our Graduate programme you will be required to attend your site 3-4 days per week. Please note, this may be subject to change in line with the needs of the business. The hybrid working arrangements including which days you are required to work on site/remotely will be outlined by your line manager.

What you will be doing

As a Graduate engineer you would be expected to be involved in a number of areas in order to develop a broad understanding of the Through-Life Support Engineering function.

Working in a fast growing discipline, applying systems and supportability engineering principles to the development of concepts and designs for customer service operations.

Gain experience across a number of vital defence programmes providing next-generation capability for the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy. With our huge portfolio of products and our multinational presence, there are opportunities to get involved in something different around every corner. We are also fully committed to supporting graduates to work towards professional registration and Chartership with a range of professional institutes (e.g. the IET and IMechE).

Duties and Responsibilities

- Engagement with customers, and understanding their needs and translating these in to support solution requirements & Modelling service solution performance and integrity.

- Reliability Analysis - interrogate and analyse design and supplier data including virtual and digital model based environments in order to influence and qualify product design and support solutions and requirements.

- Maintainability - utilising design and customer support and service data identify maintenance optimisations to provide efficient Maintenance Policies, Schedules and Procedures.

- Technical Documentation - research, originate and edit technical information and supporting data to create, update and publish design approved data.

- Mission Support - Improvement and delivery of state-of-the-art mission planning and support services.

- Product Support - Support air and ground crew with understanding the operational and maintenance needs of their aircraft to help them complete their mission.

Skills

As a minimum requirement you'll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or STEM.

On commencement of employment you will be paid a one-off non-consolidated lump sum payment of £2,000 (the "Welcome Payment"). These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation. All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.
