Job Title: Operations Support Engineer

Location: Barrow-In-Furness (On-site)

Salary: £28,636+ Dependent on experience

What you'll be doing:

  • Support and facilitate the delivery of Build and Commissioning activities that are aligned to the SMITE and Warspite Facilities objectives
  • Liaise with other departments and Contractors as appropriate, always fostering good customer relations
  • Assist with the development of operations documentation to the required standard
  • Have a clear understanding of and apply the Quality and HS&E Management System documentation e.g. Process Instructions, Risk Assessments etc. applicable to your work scope
  • Duties will include but not limited to; raising Orders via company process, data inputting using various applications, producing work packs to support production, drawing recalls, Risk & COSHH management, producing reports and general administration

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Packages
  • Experience working across multiples departments and with Senior stakeholders

Desirable:

  • Experience delivering key milestones or objectives within set timescales
  • Basic understanding of Team Centre and SAP

The Build Delivery Project Support team:

As an Operations Engineer you will be joining a high performing team working in a unique environment, with the opportunity to work alongside of both Build and Test programmes across two Dreadnought facilities.

SMITE (Submarine Machinery Installation Testing) is a specialist testing facility owned by the MOD and operated by BAE Systems. Its purpose is to test sets of Submarine Main Propulsion Machinery Packages (MPMP) to support the Astute Class Programme of nuclear attack submarines.
