Our aim is to reach an income of £96 million over the 10 years, directly contributing £53 million to Cancer Research UK's life-saving research. As our trading operations expand, so does our marketplace and eCommerce presence. Sustainable and preloved fashion is on the rise, with the online resale market due to be worth $36bn by 2024 and bigger than fast fashion by 2029, at $64bn. Therefore, this is a key area for us and a real opportunity to bring in more money towards our mission.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as an Ecommerce Executive. In this role, You will be Supporting our eCommerce operations with the day-to-day running of Cancer Research UK's Online Shop and Amazon Store presence. With over 90,000 products sold per year and over £2M in revenue generated, you will be a key member of our online shop team. Your role will include assisting with the creation and management of product listings, reporting on sales, and maintaining and reporting on promotional activity to ensure the department drives revenue and meets objectives.

What will I be doing?

  • Assisting the eCommerce team in analysing website performance, maintaining the Online Shop's promotions, product inventory, and reporting, as well as taking appropriate action to deliver income targets (e.g., c £2m income annually).

  • Assisting the Marketplace team in maintaining our Amazon Store's listings (c. 1000 products/ 2,500 SKUs at a time), promotions, visual feel and reporting on performance.

  • Working with the Trading Marketing team to develop, deliver, and report on marketing activities across our online Marketplace (.e.g., retail promotional campaigns for Black Friday, Christmas, Stand Up to Cancer Week, Race for Life etc)

  • Maintaining relationships with and process orders for our wholesale customers with high speed and accuracy.

  • Supporting our fulfilment service provider and in-house Supporter Services team with customer service queries to enhance the customer experience, resolve problems quickly, and increase sales.

  • Assisting in ensuring compliance of our eCommerce listings against Cancer Research UK's policies, legal requirements, and best practices to minimise the risk to the Charity.

  • Managing stock counts across our online shops while analysing trends and working closely with the buying team to Identify high performing products (e.g., Cancer Care and Race for Life) and ensure adequate inventory is maintained at all times.

What are you looking for?

  • Online Marketplace, Ecommerce, or Retail background with experience using online marketplace platforms (e.g., Shopify and/or Amazon).

  • Commercially minded with:

    • An understanding of online marketplace operations and selling products online.

    • Experience meeting targets/ KPIs (such as sales budgets, listing targets, and income targets etc).

    • An ability to analyse data and metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

  • Has worked with B2B (business-to-Business) customers (such as retail partners and suppliers).

  • As a home-based worker, you will need an excellent eye for detail with a proven ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards whilst effectively prioritising your own time.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient IT and administrative skills (including Microsoft Packages and data entry in Excel).
