Care Assistant

Cherished Home Care

Job Description

£13.50 per hour, guaranteed up to 15 hours

Part time, Bracknell

We're looking for a reliable, experienced care assistant with flexibility to work across the

week and in particular weekends. For example, you may be available for many days over the

week between 8am and 8pm. Or if your availability is slightly different, we would love to speak

with you to find shifts to suit your lifestyle.

If you have worked as a domiciliary carer, health care assistant, been a carer in a care home or

hospital, then we'd love to speak with you about joining our visiting care team in the Reading

area. Rest assured, we pay for your travel and the time that you spend travelling.

When you choose to work with Cherished Home Care, you will be supporting our clients to

stay in the homes they cherish. You'll be providing care, typically to an older person, enabling

them to live well in their own home and community. Promoting choice and independence

through tailored one-to-one care, the role of a carer is both fulfilling and rewarding.

We care about the things you care about:

We don't do zero hours contracts. When you work with us you will be given a guaranteed

hours contract based on your availability. This is a commitment from us to pay you a

guaranteed minimum number of hours per week - regardless of how many care calls you do

and many of our carers choose to work more than the minimum hours. Options currently

include up to 15 hours guaranteed per week, with availability required at weekends. Due to

our current client requirements, we regret to advise we do not have any vacancies at the

moment for school time hours.

● Minimum of 1 hour visits - zero 15 or 30 minute calls, giving you more time to care for

your client

● Competitive pay rate - £13.50 per hour. PLUS you'll be paid for the time it takes to

travel between calls, plus we'll pay your travel expenses

● Annual salary review

● All clients accessible by public transport

● FREE Blue Light Card

● Free induction training with opportunities to further develop your knowledge through

our ongoing training courses

● Employee assistance programme - supporting you in times of need

● FREE Enhanced DBS at induction

● 24/7 on call support

● Generous 'Refer A Friend' Scheme

● Holiday pay and workplace pension scheme

call time of 1 hour.

Following an individual client care plan, you will assist with:

● Supporting clients with their personal care

● Preparing healthy meals

● Accompanying clients to appointments and social outings

We're looking for:

● A driver with access to their own vehicle

● Previous professional care experience

● Household management skills e.g. cleaning, hoovering and keeping a home tidy

● Ability to work effectively within time allocated

● Reliable and punctual

● Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

● IT skills - able to use a computer / laptop and online systems

● Please note you must already have the right to work in the UK, we cannot assist with

any sponsorship or visa requests.

If you're naturally friendly, with a desire to make a positive difference to your client's life, we

want to hear from you!

Through our existing award winning sister brands; The Good Care Group and Oxford Aunts, we know

exactly what it takes to provide professional, person-centred care. And that is the same sentiment we

have for Cherished Home Care.

Please note any successful applicants for this role will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS

Regulated Activity (under the Safeguarding and Vulnerable groups Act 2006) to apply for roles that

require them to work unsupervised with that particular group.
