We are seeking a hard-working individual to work at SEO level to support the delivery of the Professional Service team which is undergoing a significant change programme, including the introduction of new automated ways of working and a move to a category management approach. This is an exciting time to join a team which is on a continuous improvement journey. Successful candidates will receive a programme of development with the opportunity to study towards professional commercial qualifications. Working pattern Due to the business requirements of this role, it is only available on a full-time basis. However, compressed hours are available.Key ResponsibilitiesSuccessful candidates will be required to lead on the following: Support strategic procurement activities that conform to Home Office policies and assurance processes and which comply fully with EU procurement law. Ensure a full audit trail for each requirement, supporting a wide range of stakeholders to ensure governance and assurance processes are followed in a timely manner. Provide professional services commercial guidance to peers and senior colleagues that draws on relevant procurement legislation, policy, supply market knowledge and commercial experience, whilst understanding business need. Support the development of a category management approach and data strategy to maximise value from significant spend on external resource across the Home Office. Ensure that commercial risks are identified, recorded and managed at all stages of procurement, and that ongoing risks are transferred seamlessly into contract management. Ensure that savings are identified, recorded and managed at all stages of procurement and contract management. Support development of a commercial pipeline using information from existing MI systems alongside input from business areas to provide an informative and consistently presented pipeline. Develop understanding of professional service supply markets, categories and business context providing options and opportunities from a commercial perspective looking at aspects such as developing requirements, options analysis for routes to market, risks, benefits, and Social Value.
