Defence Business Services - DBS Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Cloud Engineer

You will join a team in DBS Digital, Information and Technology (DIT) responsible for exploiting and administering the DBS Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) platform, in support of Civilian People business needs. Working closely with Senior infrastructure engineers, cloud architects, and the wider Civilian People Change Delivery Services, your focus will be on maintaining and improving the OCI platform to enable DBS to provide its Civilian People services.This includes managing resources within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to support Oracle HCM Cloud Software as a Service, Platform as a Service and Infrastructure as a Service services, and support the Discover My Benefits (DMB) infrastructure on Microsoft Azure.You will carry out the duties of a Infrastructure Engineer as defined by the Government Digital, Data and Technology framework, specifically within OCl. At Higher Executive Officer level, you are expected to ensure services are delivered and used as required and work with and support third parties to provide infrastructure services.Role Specific Responsibilities:Build, configure, administer and support Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) technologies and servicesAdministering security controls that can be used to mitigate security threats within OCI services, including Cloud Guard, Logging Analytics, Access Control Lists (ACLs), authentication and authorisation tools such as Identity Domains, Groups and Policies to enforce Role Based Access Controls (RBAC) and Fine-Grained Access Controls (FGAC) Investigate problems in systems, processes and services, with an understanding of the level of a problem. Contribute to the implementation of remedies and preventative measures.Lead the support / maintenance of Windows and/or Linux services, ensuring that service levels meet or exceed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Operational Level Agreements (OLAs).Ensure live Windows and/or Linux environments are fully operational on a day-to-day basis and that they are meeting the agreed expectations of the end users.Lead with the monitoring of live service availability against agreed SLAs and review availability trends to support proactive improvement plans.
