Job Description
The DBS Portfolio Management Office (PfMO) has been established to ensure DBS delivers the right projects in the right way! It ensures the strategic alignment, classification and prioritisation of change. It monitors and track benefits, identifies and manages risks to the delivery of the portfolio. It has responsibility for improving governance and reporting performance. It also sets the standards for project delivery in line with the Governments Functional Standards.As a Portfolio Analyst you will be responsible for the oversight of the DBS Change Portfolio, providing insight, information, and support to strengthen governance and enable effective management of the portfolio. You will work across DBS to identify and categorise new projects; you will work with projects and programmes to proactively identify, quantify, and track the realisation of benefits used to justify investment; identify and monitor portfolio risks (threats and opportunities) and escalate as appropriate; and you will manage and engage with a wide range of stakeholders. You will focus primarily on providing information, insight and support that strengthens portfolio governance that enables prioritisation decisions and effective allocation of resources across the portfolio. Ultimately you will help ensure the optimal delivery of strategic business objectives in line with MOD and DBS priorities through the analysis of a range of information sources and engagement with programme / project stakeholders and converting this into informed insights using appropriate reporting and visualisation methods. Project pipeline you will work across DBS to identify, classify and prioritise new change initiatives.Governance and reporting you will collate data on projects and programmes, providing analysis of performance and report portfolio progress to a wide range of boards and stakeholders. You will also work with projects to provide assurance that DBS is aligned to Gov002 recommending actions to ensure compliance.People and Leadership you will support the Portfolio Manager to communicate and build commitment to a shared vision and sense of purpose.Planning Scheduling and Resourcing you will maintain the portfolio delivery map, monitoring project progress, identify and manage dependencies across change projects and identifying resource constraints or capacity.Risks & Opportunity Management in line with the DBS Portfolio Risk Management framework you will identify and monitor portfolio risks (threats and opportunities), design and implement mitigations and escalate as appropriate.Stakeholder Management you will, in line with the DBS Portfolio Stakeholder Engagement Framework manage and engage with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure the availability of data to support decision making.Benefits Management you will, in line with the DBS Benefits Management Framework, support project managers to proactively identify, quantify, and track data to support the realisation of benefits used to support investment in the project.
