Job Description
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Postholder will be required to:Lead on managing accounts payable, including:Reviewing purchase order (PO) and invoices, staff expense and Government Procurement Card (GPC) to ensure proper governance is followed and transactions are accurately recorded in our financial systemsManaging the administration of travel & subsistence payments for the Justices and Staff.Producing related reports including a monthly transparency report and prompt payment report.Prepare weekly payment run.Reviewing and maintaining Justices travel and subsistence spreadsheet.Collation of monthly accruals / prepaymentsPreparation and submission of PSA to HMRCLead on managing accounts receivable, including:Raising all sales invoices including court hire, justices lunch, and annual contribution from England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.Liaising with customers for queries and payments of invoices.Ensuring fees received are matched to the case management system.Download, update and maintain bank statement weekly.Recording any cash or cheques collected and ensuring they are appropriately banked and reconciled.Additionally:Act, when required, to investigate irregularities, correct errors and ensure the integrity of data input to the finance system.Reconcile Account Payable, Receivable and income to Balance Sheet, and assist Finance Manager with bank reconciliation.Support the finance manager to develop and maintain finance procedures, systems and guidance to ensure they remain accurate, effective, support successful delivery of all financial activities and are understood, e.g. payment and desktop guides and the Finance Manual.Role model the values of the UKSC and be a champion of the Court to all internal and external customers.Work in a flexible way and undertake any other duties reasonably requested by line management which are commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post.
