Our roles support our Court users and colleagues within HMCTS, where people and businesses access potentially life-changing justice. If you are interested in developing a career with a real purpose, please apply.Your role Our administrative teams are the core of our National Business Centres (NBCs), delivering great customer service to enable Justice. You will be working in our War Pensions and Armed Forces Compensation Chamber, responsible for handling appeals by current and former servicemen or women in England and Wales against decisions by Veterans UK in relation to pensions, compensation and other amounts.Youll register new appeals onto our tribunals database, issue tribunal directions, progress cases, list appeals and arrange Judicial office holders to hear appeals. You may also be asked to clerk a virtual hearing on our video hearing platform. This involves assisting customers and Judiciary in preparing for a hearing and commencing a hearing promptly.You will have the confidence to liaise with Judiciary, legal representatives and service users and be able to adapt your verbal and written communication style in an empathetic and patient manner.Your skills and experience With a friendly and approachable manner, youll have good written and verbal communication skills with a desire to deliver proactive and effective support to customers. Youll have great attention to detail, able to enter information into our database accurately and efficiently, and able to adapt to using various software packages. Youll enjoy organising your time, prioritising efficiently and multi-tasking in a busy environment. Non-contractual hybrid working may be available in the future. Hybrid working arrangements will be determined by the business and will only be available when it has been established that delivering the service from home can be done effectively. We cannot facilitate requests for a particular work from home/working in the office schedule. Standard full time working hours are 37 hours per week. HMCTS welcomes part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns, where they meet the demands of the role and business needs and are agreed prior to appointment. All applications for part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns will be considered in accordance with the MoJs Flexible Working policy. We are unable to accommodate fewer than 24 working hours a week or Friday as a non-working day.
