Summary of the role

Job Title: Specialist Occupational Therapist

Location: Long Eaton Day Services

Salary: Up to £15,538 (£38,845 pro rata per annum) (dependent on experience)

Hours: 16 hours (part-time)

Contract: Permanent

Long Eaton Day Services is a mixed gender service for individuals aged 16 years and above, which specialises in supporting individuals with a primary diagnosis of a learning disability, in addition to those with complex health needs, physical disabilities and those with autism.

Our Day Services have a focus on demonstrating outcomes and value through activities, which are derived from our professionals, parents, carers and most importantly the people who spend their days with us.

Our services are led by three key disciplines: occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech and language therapy. Our multidisciplinary approach allows us to develop a clear and focused activity plan that works towards maximising an individual's potential and gaining the inputs as needed from the on site dedicated clinical team. Days are flexible for service users, and with the involvement of the individual and their carers, we maximise the time that is spent while they are with us. Our service provides flexibility for families and carers, with opening times from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide direct clinical care, which will encompass OT assessments, treatment and management of service users within the service. In this role, you will assess, implement and develop an OT treatment programme according to service user's diagnosis and identified needs. This will be based upon findings from assessments including associated risks, in order to develop treatment plans accordingly within the multidisciplinary team.

Occupational Therapy Directorate

Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors, we support over 150 Occupational Therapists and over 300 OT support staff. Working together as a large team, we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development.

Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway.

We ensure our occupational therapy team members have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists.
